Needs of the Few does still move forward

We are still moving forward on NEEDS OF THE FEW. It is taking a long time but I guarantee that it will be well worth the wait. You can see Mario's other work in Dark Horse's Solomon Kane, Digital Webbing's Bloodrayne and IDW's Lone Ranger & Tonto. Stick with us on his one because when it is finished you will not believe your eyes.

Needs Of The Few Continues!

After a little pause in production we continue with our 48 page stand alone sci-fi comic! Mario Guevara, the artist, has finished his current project and is back on board full time. You can check out Marios previous work on BLOODRAYNE and LONE RANGER & TONTO. His current project for Solomon Kane comics is on issue 3.

Needs of the Few Continues to Plug Along

We continue to plug away at Needs of the Few. Here is an amazing page by Mario Guevara.

Needs of the Few layouts

Before I have an artist start on pencils I like to get a page layout so that if there are corrections it saves them a lot of time and trouble.

Needs of the Few Early Design

Here is another early design idea for Needs of the Few. Again, not something we used but is most definitely going to be in a future project between myself and Mario.

Needs of the Few Character Design- Ethan

The assistant engineer from Needs of the Few. Ethan Witenburg.

Needs of the Few Character Design

Yet another character from the Needs of the Few crew. This is Simran, our navigations specialist.

Head of Security

Here is the head of security aboard the ETHOS. More of a freelance merc than actual security. She is a take no prisoners and ask questions later kind of woman. It can get dangerous traveling through space and she is exactly the kind of woman you want on your side.

McCombs...Ethos Security

Back to NEEDS OF THE FEW. This is McCombs. That's all this bad motha needs for a name. There are 2 merc security on the ETHOS. My next post will be the pic for his boss. She is even harder than him and it shows.

Another Early Design

Here is another early concept design when we were trying to decide which direction to take the book. The backgrounds are very much like the final product but neither of the characters made the final cut.

Layout page

I thought I would change it up today and rather than post another character or ship design show one of the layout sketches that Mario did. This is page 24. Right smack dab in the middle of the story.

This is the design we used for Dr. Tanya Agas in NEEDS OF THE FEW.

NEEDS OF THE FEW takes place aboard Ethos, an exploration vessel on it's way back to Earth. Dr. Tanya Agas has discovered a problem. However, this is not the Dr Tanya Agas that you will meet in the 1-Shot. Her post will be next.

Initial Designs for Ethos Interior

When we were first starting NEEDS OF THE FEW the exact designs of our story were a toss up. Was it going to be a classic Sci-fi feel or a gritty Heavy Metal tone. Eventually the Heavy Metal dirty look won out and these early prototypes were scrapped. It doesn't mean we wont use them for something else...

More Character Designs

Here is another character from the upcoming NEEDS OF THE FEW! There are 10 characters involved in this 1-shot and this is one of my favorites.

Needs Of The Few Ship Design

Here is the ship design for our NEEDS OF THE FEW comic. Mario gave me a pile of deigns for the ETHOS and this was our favorite.

NEW Sci-Fi Project

ECV Press is keeping us busy...NOT busy enough for me to stop working on side projects! Here is a look at a 48 page stand alone book that I am working on called NEEDS OF THE FEW. The artist is Mario Guevara. He did a couple of the early ECV Press webcomics then moved on to Bloodrayne from Digital Webbing, just completed Lone Ranger & Tonto through Dynamite Entertainment and is working on Solomon Kane at Dark Horse!

Hope you enjoy and there will be more to come.
